Idk.dev, provider of programming & DevOps tutorials has announced the general availability of Client-Side Metrics for the AWS SDK for Java v2. This SDK, which was initially announced in preview on July 7th, is now in version 2.14.0 and is designated for use in production environments.
The announcement of the general release noted that client-side metrics allow developers to collect necessary performance metrics that are being recorded automatically via the SDK. The announcement continued by noting that:
“These metrics help you detect and diagnose issues in your applications, such as increased API call latency and startup time. You can also use the metrics to monitor trends in your SDK usage over time and tune the SDK for optimal performance and resource usage.”
Make sure to check back for additional details as they become available.
