Open Food Facts, a global provider of nutrition information, has launched an API library for Laravel. The Open Food Facts database includes information on over 1.3 million food items and the organization has added the API wrapper for Laravel to simplify integration with the database for Laravel applications.
The database, which is free, open-source, and collaborative includes information on food additives, ingredients, type of packaging, manufacturing location, and more. In addition to the Laravel library, developers should also check out the recently updated documentation for the API.
The API is free to use, even for production instances, and developers can check out the API Wiki for full details on usage. Make sure to follow the Open Food Facts APITrack this API profile on ProgrammableWeb to get notified about updates to the API.
