UNOS Expands UNet APIs for Medical Transplant Data

United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) is a non-profit organization that manages a national medical transplant database in coordination with the U.S. federal government. The organization operates a platform called UNet, providing developers with several APIs that enable integration with transplant data.

UNOS has recently announced new functionality for the UNet APIs that will allow developers to access waitlist registration information. Previously UNet users were required to manually extract waitlist registration data for integration with legacy systems. The organization noted that this additional functionality will allow “people within the transplant community who are designing information systems to create flexible user workflows around Waitlist registration management.”

The UNOS developer portal for UNet includes detailed information on what it takes to partner with the organization. Beyond this, it does not seem that much technical data is available publicly on the APIs.
