“The release of Vue 3 is just around the corner,” Gabor Soos commented in a company announcement. “We can expect a faster, smaller, more maintainable version with a lot of new exciting features. Mostly these are additions and improvements over the existing API.”
Although the Vue team encourages developers to go ahead and upgrade to v3, those who aren’t comfortable can try out the latest version through the 3.0 beta playground. New features in v3 include a new reactivity system, Composition API, Fragments, Teleport, and Suspense. For a complete list of updates, check out the merged RFCs.
2.7 will be the last release under v2. After the release of v3, 2.7 will be supported for 18 months. The team has already started plans for both v4 and 5 which will include new and requested features.
